Sudan Bikash Maharjan joined ICIMOD as a Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Analyst in September 2009 and is working on glacier mapping and inventory of glaciers in the Hindu Kush-Himalayan (HKH) region. Prior to joining ICIMOD, he worked as a research assistant for Water Aid Nepal in monitoring, modelling and designing, and data analysis of shallow groundwater recharge through rainwater harvesting in Patan, Kathmandu. He has also worked as consultant and hydro-geologist in a feasibility study of groundwater and in the supervision of tube well installation in the Terai region of Nepal. Mr Maharjan holds a Master’s degree in Geology from Tribhuvan University, Nepal.
